You're in fine form ;-)...I think that we're not so far apart, and that I'm probably correct to emphasize being sure we're talking about the same thing. What I'm talking about probably isn't really socialism (as I expected), though--and here's a crux--ofttimes those rather mild-mannered prescriptions are shrilly denounced as "socialist!" or even "commie!". Which is, I assert, something of an exaggeration. And I think that shrill exaggeration is a matter of style--a fashion statement, if you will--on the Right. My prescription for a government that better serves all the people involves regulating essential sectors of the economy, but keeping hands off as much as possible everything else. The trick, where wisdom is required to govern, is knowing the difference.
