Sometimes I think there is only one way for decay to go.....let it rot completely out.
There are at least two generations of lost souls, to poverty, ignorance, violence, drugs, prostitution and sexual morbidity.
They have been fed on it and their souls are lost to it.
Some may find enlightenment and redemption and pull themselves out of the darkness, but I think society may just have to deal one-on-one with them.
And a largely unseen problem wll be the vets coming back from Iraq after 2 or more tours, with brain damamge and PTSD. Right now, a lot have been abandoned and are in distress.
Then we have the nations' poor, those with disabilities and long-simmering mental problems.
No, it's not going to be pretty; but a concerted effort to help those in need may help ameliorate the lost.
