Weird.
The goal seems to be an Earthlike environment on Mars so people can live there.
An amazing number of solutions seem to involve technologies so incredibly advanced that one wonders if there might not be more effective ways to use it for space colonization or human advancement than just messing with Mars.
Kind of like this...
To get food while trapped on a desert island:
a) Cultivate a small plot of land
b) Paddle to the giant luxury liner anchored offshore
c) Buy seeds at their flower shop
d) Return, plant them, and wait for your food.
