Of the top 20 political donors in America, 12 are unions. Almost all of that cash goes to Democrats, regardless of how many Republican union members there might be out there. Over the past 20 years these 12 unions have pumped $337 million into Democratic Party coffers.
You can't think this doesn't make a big difference in policy when Democrats have all the power.
Of the top 50 donors, 18 are unions. Only eight are financial companies or organizations.
It might be educational to see how much of the "stimulus" is going to end up one way or another with union labor, with a nice kickback coming back to Democratic candidates.
