Isn't it odd how when industry groups donate to politicians its "Fredom of Speech" but when unions do it is a threat to the republic. Listen to yourself, man. Can't you see how totally polarized you've become?

That's how anything gets done in this country. People with money bribe politicians to do it. It's called economic power, and conservatives are always telling us it doesn't really make any difference, except, of course, when unions do it. And God forbid when the environmentalists (or ny non-profits) do it. Suddenly they become a "special interest group", like the drug dealers. Uh, excuse me. I meant the drug companies.

The same goes for advertising. "No one puts a gun to your head and makes you buy anything" is the stock reply when liberals whine about media marketing. But when liberals push their agenda in the press its propaganda.

Unions contribute to politicians because in this democracy, money doesn't just talk, it swears. It is corporate money and power that has created this environment, they are the ones who mostly benefit from it, and they still control the bulk of the money and the power, so they have no business bitching when others are forced to use it.
