"The Stand" by Stephen King.

I haven't read anything by Stephen King, I have to admit. I generally stick to non-fiction, and avoid the macabre. History is as macabre as I can usually stand.

Reading the synopsis the premise looks good. I don't particularly care about the end-times struggle between good and evil, and am absolutely sure when I read it I'll be as fascinated as everyone else.
