We'll see what happens

I still don't trust Obama's overly flexible principles and tendency to go for the line of least resistance. Even a deliberate thinker needs to arrive at a conclusion sooner or later. None of our wartime leaders became popular by telling Americans that we need to spend some time looking at all points of view before we responded to attacks or a crisis.

Still, Obama has a pretty good set of military leaders under him to advise him, so I'm hopeful he'll do the right things, and not long after it's too late.

Sooner or later some president was going to get stuck with the Pakistan hot potato, just like some president will get stuck with an Israeli attack on Iran. Odds are Obama will be both. Not really his fault, just bad timing.

We got 9/11 because our enemies didn't believe we'd really do anything about it. Bin Laden actually wrote that down. They were wrong. There was a period of time early on when countries like Libya had a sudden raise in consciousness about acting up. Maybe it was only along the lines of "Jeez, that Bush dude is one CRAZY m'f'r!" But for a while, it worked.

I'm afraid too many of our enemies and adversaries think we've gone back to being "mostly harmless" with a change in leadership, and Obama may be forced to lay down a serious ass kicking to change their minds again if something serious happens.
