Current Events » in reply to Reality - Conservatives don't want uninsured to have health care. Period.

Actual reality: Conservatives don't want leftist idiots screwing up yet another aspect of our lives.

I understand you're not really following this at all, but the issue isn't providing health insurance to the uninsured, the issue is dragging the other 85 percent of the nation into some gas-brained hookah fantasy engineered by people who have as much grasp of basic economic ideas as a goldfish has of nuclear physics.

We already HAVE government health care for the elderly and poor. We spend more on Medicare and Medicaid in a single year than the entire cumulative cost of the war in Iraq since it started. In about four more years that annual total will surpass the cumulative amount (at the current rate) of both Afghanistan AND Iraq. By 2015, the total of these two programs, Medicare and Medicaid--every single year--will crack the trillion dollar mark.

Did I mention that the Medicaid number is Federal spending only, and doesn't even include the state contributions?

Only an imbecile would say we aren't spending money to get health care to the poor.
