Imagine that kid is laying there bleeding and ol' Dad is off engaged in a completely optional fight. Now that kid has been injured, doesn't happen to be bleeding, and Dad is ignoring him, not taking care of him, not attending to the kid's needs but off satisfying himself.

This was not self-defense or defense of the kid. Not even close. Repeat - not self defense or defending the kid.

That parent is acting in a manner detrimental to his child's interests, his family's interest and his own interest AND

acting in the perps best interest.

If that's not foolish I don't know what is.

I don't trust people who get extremely punitive extremely rapidly. They are hiding serious matters deep inside themselves. Take care of the kid.
