He stated that Gates was "loud and tumultous" and that he yelled and shouted during the incident.
Well, now it turns out that Gates had just returned from a trip to China, and in China he had contracted a severe bronchial infection. He was treated and he even has a doctor’s report from the Peninsula hotel in Beijing. Therefore it was physically impossible for Gates to have been yelling, shouting, or loud at all.
By the way, the cop thought he was being clever by inserting the word "tumultuous" into his report. Under Massachusetts law, that's the exact wording for part of the definition of disorderly conduct. Trouble is, disorderly conduct (unruly behaviour that could lead to a riot or otherwise cause public harm) can only occur in a public place, or in a private residence where there is a gathering. It can not occur in a private residence when the owner is alone and not threatening anyone nor anything! Once again, the cop is a liar.
I'm telling you, if Gates and his attorneys ever get this cop on the stand in court they will absolutely tear him to pieces. He should do the right thing and apoligize to Gates, and everyone can get on with their lives.
