Oh yeah, David Morrison. When the NEO search was assigned to JPL, he
went off the deep end. I think that his plan was to run it through Ames,
using Arizona facilities.
It wasn't my decision, I simply reported it. He told me I had made the story up, and I gave him my source, and my source ended up leaving NASA. I asked my source, but never found out if David himself was responsible.
At the time I had no idea of the depth of his dispute with Clube and Napier.
And then there's the accusation that I wanted to kill him, which Blackwell reported here.
Now that's an idea which never occured to me. And that was very stressful.
