You asked, I answered as a courtesy. Whether or not you believe me matters not in the least to me other than that I probably won't bother answering such questions in the future.
I don't see what your reply has to do with your title or much else I've posted on this thread. If it's simply to point out others have lined up against you, my answer is well duh. Spout nonsense and you will get a lot of contradiction. I am well aware you have tried to lump and dismiss everyone that disagrees with you and are not targeting me alone. However, I can only answer for my own actions and point out how invalid your claims are with regard to me. I will stand up for the others in that I believe you are just as off base with them, but I do not remember enough details to address specifics.
I know it may be tough for you to grasp, but an Eartlike Mars does not mean it is just like Earth, it means it is the planet most like Earth from a habitability standpoint. From a shear mass and size standpoint Venus is far more of a twin than Mars, yet it is far less habitable and has less geographic similarity.
Peope like Nick, can quibble that Mars is Mars-like not Earth-like but it is really fundamentally irrelevant when people are talking about the planet most likely to have life besides Earth or to support Earth life in the future. Despite your rants based on a limited set of data from Mariner 4 every probe since has continued to find more similarities with Earth as well as processes unique to Mars and different from the Earth or the Moon. Mars has the chemical inventory capable of supporting life and physical conditions near those which can sustain life unlike any other planet in the solar system no matter how much you drink, blow smoke, or hurl insults.
Regards,
Mark
