That is a very interesting graphic that you posted, the graphic points to the approximate time of 1950 in the comic (graphic) when the Earth’s global temperature started going up very rapidly.
What is interesting to me is the fact that both the CO2 and the radioactivity in the atmosphere started increasing at about the same time.
There are many web sites where the greenhouse gasses and their effects are scrutinized and explained to cause the global warming. The one explanation that I have read about as to how it works is that the high frequency energy from the sun goes through the clouds, hits the Earth and then converts to a lower frequency which is reflected from the clouds back towards the Earth from the greenhouse gasses that are part of the clouds and that way more heat collects to the environment. This explanation may be true; I can not dispute the validity of it, very many people believe that this explanation is true if for no other reason except the fact that the amount of CO2 is increasing in the atmosphere.
It is true that there is more CO2 in the atmosphere but there are two reasons why the CO2 is increasing. Only one of these reasons is being investigated.
I do not think that I am the only one in the world that has figured out another possible “forcing” that may be responsible for all of the global changes in the environment that are happening right now.
I have explained my “suspicion” about this phenomenon to various people; some people agree that there is enough scientific evidence and logic behind the “suspicion” that it needs more “scientific” study.
Others that understand something about the phenomenon point out that mathematics convince them that the “forcing” that I am pointing to is far too small to cause any effect on a global scale.
Such “small number” answer leaves me with a nagging question; which is; did the person include ALL the available “energy” that could cause the “forcing”?
From my perspective if a mathematician does not take into consideration all the energy that is available to do a certain function, then they are not doing their job correctly; it seems to be an action somewhat similar; as if a farmer would take a basket full of apples and then picking only few them to count, throwing the rest away and saying that they are not counted because they are smaller than the counted ones. If the farmer would indicate how much smaller the ‘other” apples are and how much of a difference they would make in the total, then the answer would make more sense.
The web site: http://zebu.uoregon.edu/disted/ph162/l4.html indicates that the worlds electricity consumption is = 2,586,000 GWh Since the thermal efficiency of the generating systems is about 30% we need to multiply the figure by three in order to figure out how much heat energy is actually used to create that quantity of electrical energy.
2,586,000 GWh * 3 = 7,758,000 that is the total energy used in one hour; in 24 hours it becomes; 7,758,000 * 24 = 186,192,000 GWh.
The power is generated every day of the year; a common year contains 8,760 hours; therefore 186,192,000 * 8,760 = 1.63104192*10^12 GWh of heat energy “created” in one year.
Nuclear energy has been available since 1950 today is 2020 that means that the time that nuclear energy has increased in the environment is about 70 years.
I do not know how much nuclear energy is left in the environment from the nuclear experiments and explosions that were conducted in those days, or thereafter, but since the decay happens very slowly, I suspect that there still is some of it left over from the time of the first experiments.
There are many nuclear reactors that are not dedicated to generating electricity, such as research facilities, ships, submarines, and various defense departments.
I do not think that anyone knows exactly what the quantity of “radiative” energy that is left over from the previous nuclear explosions and experiments; that is why I am simply going to “estimate” that it is half of the figure calculated for 24 hours.
The amount is 186,192,000 GWh. And half of that is 93,096,000 “GWh”.
Adding the two figures gives us; 279,288,000,000,000,000 “Watt hours”.
Multiplying that for one (ordinary) year: 8,760 * 279,288,000,000,000,000 =
2.4465628799999997*10^21 watt hours of energy per year.
According to the web site: http://zebu.uoregon.edu/disted/ph162/l4.html
The Earth receives 84 terawatts of power from the sun. 84 terawatts multiplied by 60 seconds = 5,040 terawatt minutes and multiplied by 60 minutes = 302,400 terawatt hours.
Converting 302,400 terawatt hours into watt hours = 3.02400,000 000e+17 watt hours. Multiplying by 8,760 hours that is in a year = 2.649024*10^21 watt hours.
According to this estimate there is approximately 2.0246112*10^20 watt hours more energy per year coming from the sun than from the nuclear power stations and other nuclear activity done by people.
Does this mean that even though there is about 2.44656288*10^21 watt hours of “extra” energy pumped into the environment, that the environment does not become warmer?
Suppose that all this amount of heat is “created” by nuclear chain reaction that is controlled. When the “chain reaction” within the “furnace” is stopped and the radioactive material is taken and placed in a pool of water it will still produce heat for many years, since electricity is needed, the “furnace” is loaded with new radioactive “fuel”, this means that the new and the old “fuel” is creating heat.
The old fuel’s heat generating efficiency will decrease very slowly with time the time that half of the material has cooled down depends on the material that was “created” in the furnace.
As you can see; the “energy” release from “both” the new and “used” energetic material will combine to generate “heat” in the environment.
Since the “used” material’s release of energy remains in the environment for thousands of years, there will be a time where the “energy” increase will be greater than what the Earth’s atmosphere emits into space and when that happens then the environment will start to heat up, or at least it will accumulate the radioactive “energy” within the environment.
Such “extra” energy will create heat and will have very serious consequences for the people living on this planet.

Anything that increases or decreases the amount of incoming or outgoing energy disturbs Earth’s radiative equilibrium; global temperatures must rise or fall in response.
