A Pierson's Puppeteer
An intelligent alien species found in Larry Niven's science fiction stories.
Each one of the stalks is equipped with an eye, which gives the creature the ability to look in any direction, stereoscopically in one direction, or in multiple directions at once. It is very difficult to sneak up on one of these guys.
Although the concept of "humor" is a bit difficult to transfer to an alien mind, the Puppeteer has the habit of letting both of its eyes stare into each other when it encounters an experience it considers absurd or unexpected. In human terms, it translates roughly to an eye-roll.
