Almost anything originating with Robertson is disgusting.

Independent of Robertson, I am somewhat conflicted. My wife's step mother died with Alzheimer's. Her Father, who was 10-15 years older than her cared for her until she was totally in a vegetative state. She lived in a virtual comatose state for 3-4 years in a nursing home.

While she was in the nursing home he visited her nearly every day in spite of the fact she was unable to acknowledge his presence.

He was in his late 70s and never considered divorce or any other relationship. If he had been younger or if he had found companionship even at his age, it would have seemed okay to me, as long as he continued to acknowledge he with frequent visits. If for any reason a divorce had happened, I don't see a problem.

The only objection I can imagine would be a religious objection. She had not known who he was for a year before she entered the nursing home.
