Which is why I made the point that I did. Design work today SHOULD be far faster and more cost effective than ever before. I'm a mechanical drafter/designer and with Autocad, I can do the work of a hundred board drafters from 30 years ago. You want something drawn up? I can do it in a matter of minutes or hours as opposed to days or longer. Inserting blocks and making redline changes can be done in a snap. I have an entire data base of drawings from past projects at my fingertips to call upon to help me with design ideas.
The enigineers are the same way. They have programs that take much of the work out of their jobs. Software that automatically does the equations and simply requires that a few variables be plugged in.
