In July, 1969, America took four days to put two men on the Moon.

In January, 2010, America can't even clear rubble off the streets in Haiti
in 4 days.
I;m no engineer, but haven't the powers to be heard about a lightweight
machine called a BOBCAT?
You can load 10 of those on a Hercules, and deliver 100 in less than 24 hours
to a place like Haiti.
And in 24 hours of landing they could clear the streets for food, medical, fuel, and water convoys to pass through.

As for the damaged port?....That ain't nothin compared to what the SEEBEES
had to deal with in WW2.
So where are the shart-minded innovators these days?
Where are the all-powerful authorities who can make sharp, quick decisive
decisions and issue such commands these days?
Where are those McGuiver-like engineers who know how to improvise?? who can
assemble ad hoc lightweight lifting-cranes out of scrap metal, trashed machine parts, cable lying around, and rusting beat up Toyota pickup trucks? and do it in a matter of hours?
We need, no, the HaItians need such people NOW!!!! 😠😠😠
