Aw, nuts...
I've got a MacBook Pro with a totaled display, but otherwise (judging from sounds and other things) seems to be operating OK. I had the bright idea of hooking its external display plug to another monitor (my TV) so I could check things out.
Unfortunately, the default for that connector is to create an extra side screen, not replace the main screen, so I just got this great shot of the background graphic and a cursor. I apparently have to change the display mode to something called "mirrored" to make this work, and of course since I can't see what I'm doing on the primary screen I can't make that change. Oh well, it was worth a shot.
