I'm not pulling your chain. I believe everything I'm saying. You just find it inconceivable that anyone capable of cogent thought could possibly disagree with you.
The oil company management uses other people's money, not their own. They get it by selling stock and borrowing it. Executive management is not entrepreneurial, they are hired employees who risk their jobs, but not their fortunes when they screw up. And as we have seen lately, even losing their jobs isn't all that bad in the rarified bonus environment they have created for themselves. The money that is risked is the stockholder's, who are the real entrepreneurs. And as a rule, the real victims.
I'm not quite sure I understand where or how I said the oil companies like to get crapped. If I did, I apologize, but that is not what I meant. Oil companies don't like anything. They are administrative devices for converting capital to profit, they don't like or think or believe anything. If they figure they have a chance of striking oil, they'll go for it. But they are in the business of selling oil, not finding it, and they react spasmodically, like machines. The political personalities I allude to are not capitalists or their employees, (for them it is just a job); they are entrepreneurial wannabees and groupies, like yourself.
As for my being "honked off", you flatter yourself (not to mention betraying a bit of your own offhonkiness). Arguing politics is not what I do for personal satisfaction, at least not at the rate of scores of political posts a week. My hobby is sailing.
Oh, and TB, in case you hadn't noticed, ALL political discussion is like debating the flavor of asparagus, because it is all philosophical. It's all in your mind. Without human beings and communities, there would be no politics or economics. It has no objective reality of its own. Now, the fragrance of an asparagus piss...well THAT is objective reality.
