crash

Damn. Was running my GPS map program and it asked me if I wanted to upgrade. No big deal, right?

Wrong.

Four words: Blue Screen of Death.

Booting with last good configuration crashes. I can use safe mode, where I've been able to back up stuff that hadn't be backed up.

CCleaner found 900 megs of temp files. What? Never seen more than 100 M before.

Ran SpyBot, no malware.

Tried to uninstall the offending program. It will not uninstall. I may have to delete the folder, and then try to clean the registry.

Mostly, I think it is time for a new computer. One problem: my plotter doesn't have a USB port. It needs a parallel port, and they don't come standard anymore. I could network it, as it does have an eathernet port, but that's another project I don't have time for.

Oh well, I've got the laptop.
