Re: "never noticed any political bias"

You yourself said only yesterday that it "seems to have a liberal bent."

Williams was busted for daring to work on enemy territory. For doing commentaries on Fox News. They've been looking for an excuse to bust him for a while now.

This is a symptom of liberal media thought. As this commentary says:

^Notice something interesting. No conservatives are trying to prevent people from appearing on NPR, but liberal interest groups and their media outlets are trying to prevent people from appearing on Fox News.^

It's interesting how deeply the very few exceptions to liberal dominance of the media, education, and culture stick in liberal craws.

That's not really the main point anyway. Government shouldn't be funding ANY kind of media. In an age where you can produce television shows sitting at your kitchen table (that sometimes get more hits online than real TV shows get viewers), when there are hundreds of channels for even the most obscure interest, there are really no reasons for government to have to support a given media outlet. Maybe there was more reason back in the days when public TV and radio were founded, but not now.
