I don't recall discussing gas and heating prices. There are specific causes and effects from the current health legislation. I can go into detail if you want.

As for the second part of your post, I see you swallowed that line of crap without even chewing.

The Democrats had total control of the legislature since January of 2007. What did they actually do, other than attack Bush? I don't recall Bush vetoing any massive new Pelosi financial regulation bills back then.

And given the margins the Democratic Party had since January of 2008, the Republicans, even voting in a solid unified bloc, couldn't really block anything from passing the House or Senate. Along party lines, the Senate was essentially filibuster-proof. The Republicans had no real voting power at all. If leftist Democrats had trouble getting the Great Socialist Dream shoved down America's throat, it was because Democratic representatives were nervous about their voters at home. Go look up the vote tallies on specific legislation.

Most of the Democrats voted for Obamacare anyway, and it turns out they were right to be nervous.
