Re: just started

- The Democrats and their allies will be spending a lot of time stoking dissension in the Republican Party. The "purity test" article is one such attempt. The list on that "purity test" is hardly controversial, and I don't have a problem with most of it. Number 9 is a bit disjointed. Conservatives have gotten tired of electing Republicans who turn into Democrats. This was largely why the Republicans got kicked out before, and if they do it again, they'll get kicked out again.

- The "Moderate Voice" isn't. Just more liberals in "moderate" suits, or more likely, liberals who are firmly convinced they are in the "center." Go to the main blog page, do some scrolling, and then you tell me where they are politically. I do agree with them on Tim Conway as a comedy god.

- Chu doesn't know how the oil got under Alaska any more than Barton does. It's not his field, and frankly I would have been shocked if he did have the correct geology on the tip of his tongue. The problem isn't people not knowing the facts, the problem is giving people like that near-unlimited power over our lives. One advantage to a decentralized society is that idiots can do only minimal damage.

- The current head of the Energy and Commerce Committee is Henry Waxman, who has some pretty bizarre beliefs of his own. But more to the point, the Committee chairmanship will be going to either Joe Barton or Fred Upton. Both of these people have their own problems. Upton is an author of the Great Incadescent Light Bulb ban. Shimkus is as likely to become Chairman as the "Rent Is Too Damn High" guy was likely to become Governor of New York. Barton will need a waiver from the Republican Party to get the position.

You are having distracting viral bullshit pumped into your head by idiots. Find things out for yourself, and focus on the real issues.
