I was well aware that my machine was slower than the software would like, but I come from the land of Microsoft operating systems, which typically just didn't run as fast as they should on slightly slower machines. I'm also well aware that 10.6 only runs on Intel machines. This is the first time in my experience I've had an otherwise compatible OS refuse to even install on an computer with a chip speed only 8 percent slower than the spec.
