On the list of things where somebody has come in and interfered with my life and liberty, there is not one private company listed. Robert complained about advertising on another thread. An advertisment by a multi-billion dollar corporation is a plea for you to do business with them.
This shows you where the power in that relationship actually is.
"Anything that is good for the people will almost assuredly be bad for big business"
You see, you say stuff like this and it makes my damn teeth itch. It probably looks great on a hand-printed sign carried by some hairy sociology professor, but it's utter crap, with no basis in reality at all.
Every day of my life, I have businesses fighting over me as a customer. I watch competing stores in my area ramp up services and quality to beat each other over the head. Grocery stores especially. I watch online companies add things like free shipping, unlimited returns, and other services. Competition online is ferocious.
The sad part is that this anti-business delusion is used quite handily by those in power who don't need to advertise. They remove your money, property and liberty at the point of a gun.
