What will happen when our national debt reaches the point that we can no longer pay the interest...let alone the debt...which, by my calculations is um...happening now?
Interest on the national debt in 2010 totaled $413,954,825,362.17. Quite a sum but government receipts totaled approximately $2,160,000,000,000.00 - thus interest on the debt was approximately 1/5 of revenues.
