Simple cloud cover won't block the signals...

but heavy rain or snow will. A thunderstorm between the antenna and satellite will cause a loss of signal even if it isn't raining at your house. I've also lost the signal when snow accumulates on the dish. A few swipes with a broom takes care of that problem. It's important to mount the antenna where you can reach it if heavy snowfall is a problem in your area.

The only other problem I've ever had was an encounter with sun intrusion once, but that will happen periodically with any satellite communications system. Sun intrusion is when the sun, the satellite, and the dish all line up. The sun drowns out the satellite signal for a few minutes until the alignment ends.
