Frank, In response to your post.I'm greiving. I did not "call" anyone anything in that exchange except a "maroon". I did not use the words "white" or "trash" or the phrase. Nope. You might want to check that. See who did use that phrase, first and last.
A careful reading would show that all I did was to agree with the man. I offered him validation, the chance to know that his version of reality was one with which others could sympathize. There are some in the US who are prejudiced against people who live in mobile homes, who make fun of them, disparage their character based upon how their house was manufactured. I was trying to help him feel better about himself.
I may not have done a good job, and for that I apologize.
And, you criticize me for being kind, considerate and thoughtful. I'm sure your motive was constructive and intended to be helpful, but that’s hard to see through the pain.
I won't say that you owe me an apology, that would be your decision, your conscience, your life. I just found something he said with which I could agree, and I did. And I have a small tear in one eye right now, my left eye, inside corner, knowing that in good faith I tried, and this is the thanks.
(By the way, your prejudices toward the people who live in a mobile home might be something you'd like to examine.)
Proudly yours,
Arf (that would be the most "heinous" thing to be called? what did he do, call Johnny Cochran?)
FrankC. On my offering comfort, succor and support.
