To take just one example.

"Lefties" are the only folks trying to protect the middle class. Conservatives seem to regard themselves as upper-class, or soon to get there. There's a wannabe snobbery in that group, which is sort of cute in the way a little girl who puts on Mommy's lipstick and high heels is cute. They work hard to transfer wealth to their adored wealthy at the expense of the middle class.

Witness the tax cut, the subsidies to huge corporate farms and the tariffs on imported steel protecting shareholders of steel companies. Prescription drug prices, protected by conservatives, wipe out the middle class. Poor people get them from the government, and the cost is negligible to the upper class. Just to mention a few.

I appreciate people who protect "traditional" values. Those are my values, too, and I'm much more comfortable with them than anything else. (Except for the war against the middle class. Not a value I respect.) And, not everyone is "there", and they are good people, too, for the most part. Not everyone has had my advantages and my opportunities.

Ya gotta wonder about anyone who says liberals don't like the middle class. Is he as deluded in the rest of his life?
