I've visited your website and agree with you NEO detection being top priority. I also visit Keith Cowing's website and like his take on NASA. This is why I'm disappointed when you say things like "the Bush Jr/Tumlinson/ Cowing space program". Cowing has about as much influence on the space program as you or me, so I don't know why you're publicly goading him. Also, inflammatory comments like "reactionary Republican's mis-handling of the economy" are just going to cause a flame war and push all the interesting stuff off the first page.
You're a smart guy. You know what you're doing. My question is "Why?"
One thing the space advocacy movement lacks cohesion and co-operation. It's very egotistical and Balkanized with mostly each "cult" arrogantly asserting they are the One True Faith (CATS, Mars etc) and all the others worship false gods. Maybe you shouldn't act quite so dogmatic and belligerent and condescending sometimes. I'm a big fan of NEO utilization for space commercialization, colonization etc myself, but know space development is going to be multi-tiered and multi-pronged approach and impossible to predict. I don't intend to keep flogging my hobbyhorse constantly, when they are many others in the stable. What about you?
