Hello Chris -
What I need is the copy of the tractors being unloaded.
Chris' reply:
Why?

Right about the fuel, nitric acid/hydrazine being von Bruan fuel 1, nuclear being von Braun fuel 2.
Chris' reply:
I haven't a clue what you're getting at. The tractors were powered by peroxide if that is what you are interested in.

BUT the tractors if I remember, were nuclear powered - a little reactor was pulled along behind? That leaves the air and water for the crew, and maybe this is what I remembered being manufactured. Or maybe it was the fuel for the tractor.
Chris' reply:
No see above. This was 1952 no reactor of the time was that small. No in situ resource were used period!

But all of this is really incidental. What amazes me is that you are able to recall the details of the scheme, and at the same time conveniently forget or ignore von Braun's delusions of a watery Mars.
Chris' reply:
Hum, I suspect you don't actual know the meaning of the word delusions. Nearly everyone at that time believed that Mars had canals, they could see them. They had yet to send a probe to see how dry Mars is in the present millennium. Lacking data is not being delusional. Believing in canals was delusional for sure, but this is hindsight as we now have far better images and no canals exist. Till Nick's white Mars is fact no one who believes Mars might of once had more water or has some vast reservoir of water underground is delusional. One very good reason for sending people to Mars is to investigate the issue.
