Well, this exchange has certainly made my morning - the Mars Society and the Space Frtontier Foundation having a tiff.
If anyone ever bothered to read "The Winged Gospel" on aviation utopianism, one coud reasonably expect the behaviour seen: as the utopianists fail to realize their fantasies, their frustration turns inward, and there is splintering and conflict.
As for the value of the greenhouse, it is a great and very cost effective publicity stunt - for which I or anyone else have to give Keith full credit. Unfortunately, the greenhouse's scientific value is nil.
