Of course, getting all of us wound up in numbers arguments avoids the real issue: a lot--not all, but a lot--of the global warming controversy is driven by people and nations with an anti-industrial, anti-capitalist, and general anti-Western agenda. In other words, this issue, like many others, is more about politics than science. Numbers are important to people like us on these boards who tend to be of a scientific bent, but not to those whose primary motives are political.
