Of course Kyoto isn't the only solution. Large scale production of modern nuclear power plants along with movement toward a hydrogen economy is an alternative that immediately suggests itself off the top of my head.
However, Kyoto IS the solution that the Powers That Be are currently trying very hard to stick us with, which is why I bring it up in this context.
