Another Q concerning Laser weaponry and space garbage.
Well, if an ABL can target and destroy through miles of hazy low-altitude thick atmosphere to catch a boosting missile, why cant it conceivably target and destroy a warhead in the coast stage?
Also, what about lasers as a method for vaporizing the larger bits of space-garbage, either using them to explosively heat (and therby altering the relative velocity of) space garbage.
I'm well outside the bounds of my knowledge, but to me these seem like tempting possibilities...
