Yeah, I had assumed de-orbit would be the goal. Nail it as it comes up over the horizon... Anyway, the point R.L. brings up about satellite co-ordination is well taken, however- that CAN be handled adequately with good software control. Air traffic, though, would be a completely different story. Plus, scatter into areas where large numbers of people with unsheilded eyes should the laser scatter of some wind-blown piece of garbage... Yeah, it probably isn't that simple.
