Ouch.
I use "like" routinely in casual conversation, and "totally" even pops up now and then too. I don't know where I picked it all up. My colloquialisms come from all over the place, and I find myself coming up with stuff from the South, the Southwest, Scandinavia, Britain, current and obsolete teen slang, and anything I like I've heard in movie dialogue or books I've read.
I'm like a cheesy language sponge. Or is that: I'm, like, a cheesy language sponge?
