Everybody does it, I catch myself using Bowser's dreaded "Actually," as a prefix to too many sentences, even in writing. My grandfather (who could perfectly understand but barely spoke English) once pointed out to me that Americans (even highly articulate ones) often punctuate and interrupt their sentences with "Uhhh...", as a a spacer, as if they were just marking time while they were thinking of what to say next. You never notice it until it's pointed out to you, then it is incredibly annoying. People who don't do that come across as very well-spoken, but they have just learned how to keep their mouth shut while thinking what they're going to say next. And of course, Canadians have their charming suffix, "Eh?".
Not "Ouch". "Gross". Like, totally.
