Situation deteriorates because Bush is a wimp
He's so afraid of failing that he's done almost NOTHING to defuse the situation. Sure he sent Colin Powel there ONCE and tried to broker some ceasefire, but what is needed is active and continuous hands on high level involvement. Sure maybe it won't do any good ultimately but at least friggin try! In this particular situation at least, Bush has proven to be a total wimp.
