Remember when Clinton pressured Netanyahu and Arafat to a premature peace summit, only to have it end in failure and damage to the peace process, just so that he could show off?

Remember Hillary's counter-productive statements calling for the creation of a Palestinian state, and embracing without protest Arafat's wife when she delivered a crazy anti-semitic speech, accussing Isreal of gassing little Arab children, and poisoning the Palestinian's water supply?

Seems to me that Bush is being cautious not to accidently emflame a very tense situation, and I can't blame it at all for that course of (in)action.

Given that both sides have violated the accords agreed to thus for (the Palestinians more so than the Israelis, in my opinion), and sunk deeper into conflict as a result, does it really make sense to make more false promises of peace and progress?
