My rock

<...On the other hand (sounding like Tevye on purpose, btw), Palestine is the Palestinian's homeland - incidentally, the homeland for a minority of Palestinian (Israeli) Jews whose ancestors never left. A state carved out of another territory, no matter how independent, is not Palestine: it's another concentration camp.

As I mentioned before, this is the big problem with people who think like this. "This is my rock! It was my father's rock, and it was his father's rock before that! No other rock could be as good as this rock! I will die for this rock! I will kill for this rock! I will wrap plastique around my only son for this rock!"

Good Lord, have you ever been to Palestine? You couldn't give the land away to most people. These people are literally dying for those sun-baked rocks.

As Tevye eventually discovered, a family and a heritage are not rooted in a village, and destroyed when a village is gone. They go wherever you go, if you are willing to keep them. Millions of other immigrants discovered the same thing. Palestine can be anywhere the Palestinians live. Remember, Israel was not the Jewish homeland either until Moses (or his heirs, to be technical about it) moved the Jews into it.
