Why don't you look at the real cause for the increase in oil prices instead of the smoke politicians are blowing up your rear.
The US dollar is the world's reserve currency, and it's what oil is bought with. As the value of the dollar continues to slide, it takes more dollars to buy a barrel of oil. Those responsible for this devaluation are the ones behind the rise in oil prices and of every other commodity. A weak dollar is not good for the US, neither are those who support such a policy.
