Re: The humiliation factor

Hello, Raoul.

Humiliation. So, it's ok for OBL to speak or strike for another country. Even if he considers himself to be a Muslim, which many Muslim clerics think otherwise now, that doesn't give him the right to do what he did. It was 'his' people that committed the strike against the US on Sept. 11th killing (over) 6,000 innocent people in one morning. He has been instigating such a war against the US for quite a while. Whether he himself committed the crime or not.

The only humiliation the US may be feeling right now, is to have been better prepared defensively.

It really is mind bogling that most Europeans don't understand and I'm not just talking about the European/Middle Easter Muslim community.

Humiliation.... ok, take the African countries for example. The North has had an increase in Muslim immigrants and the religion, both the good and the bad, is spreading... sometimes by force. You think that the African natives feel humiliated and even violated now? I think they do. So in that respect, I agree with you.

"The moderate Islamic countries can stand a fight against terrorism, but for how long before the feeling of humiliation overwhelms the masses? Already, 80% of the people polled in the streets in Marocco have changed their mind about Ben Laden and identify themselves with him. "

You know why? Fear. There is a type of propaganda at play here (The Taliban used it in Afghanistan) and it's unfortunate that it has been sprung from a peaceful religion. Religion plays a more powerful role in countries that don't have a sound political and economic system. As you may already know. They are using it in this case only to gain power and control.

The Taliban was ruling in Afghanistan, OBL could come and go throughout the neighborning countries. The people of Afghanistan must have felt the most humiliation in that part of the country... for being betrayed by the very same people that had claimed to have save them.
