If the Democrats had their way on defense issues, there wouldn't even be a stealth bomber...That was Reagan's baby. They did everything they could to kill the program in its entirety.
If Bush urgently asked Congress tomorrow for 10 more stealth bombers, my bet is Dashel would find a way to bog down the appropriation by tying it to a "stimulus" bill designed to expand the welfare state and increase the minimum wage and increase benefits for the unemployed who lost their jobs as a result of the increasing minimum wage.
