Didn't the Democrats argue against stealth because it was destabilizing

They said it would destabilize because it would enable a first strike capability that didn't already exist.

Its funny how these arguments get recycled: The destabilizing argument is the same one used against more spending on missile defense research. I didn't buy it then and I don't buy it now.

Stable or destable, you must keep one step ahead of your potential enemies.
