Gladly

Yes, that's just the point Frank. The money is gone, and nobody is ever brought to justice. I well recall then-President Reagan's words when he signed the S&L deregulation into law: "We've hit the jackpot, boys."

Indeed.

And then there's the little matter of selling arms to the Ayatollah and using the proceeds of these illegal transactions to fund terrorist activity in C. America. But of course, Reagan's boys all lied through their collective teeth to protect the "Great Communicator."

Poindexter: "I thought it was a good idea too, and I'm sure the President would have liked to have known about it."

Yea, right.

At the end of Reagan's term, or maybe even before, we were then treated to the amazing spectacle of suggestions that Ronald Reagan's image be added to Mt. Rushmore.

Oh, please!

Thankfully, once again the good judgment of the American people has kept this ludicrous idea from getting off the ground.

But to answer your question, Frank. Yes, I admired Bill Clinton and yes, I think he generally acted in the best interests of the country. Abroad, Clinton is widely admired, and need I refresh your memory that even at the height of the impeachment proceedings, Americans gave the embattled president consistently high approval ratings.

The country also enjoyed unrivaled prosperity during the Clinton years: the budget was balanced, military pork and fat were slashed, and the C-i-C presided over the most successful air campaign in military history despite some possible shenanigans.

And just one more thing. Contrast the antics of the opposition during the Clinton presidency with those of the opposition during the Bush Jr. presidency.

We don't run around calling the President of the United States a bozo. We don't take him to task when his daughters sneak in for a cocktail, nor do we go digging for dirt on the President's rumored activities in his younger days.

Honorable Americans support their president.
