I assume this is another crack about how mean-spirited and selfish we are for complaining about being smacked on the back of the head with a blackjack by politicians, our unconcious bodies rolled for our wallets, and having to watch while the bloated politicians hand out OUR money and get their rings (etc.) kissed by the grateful recipients.

It is kind of hard to see past my tax return, I will admit. I paid over $25,000 in Federal taxes last year, not counting State, sales taxes, fees, gas taxes, phone taxes, farting-in-the-bathtub taxes, or Social Security withheld from my wife's job (I'm self-employed, and get the great privilege of paying ALL my Social Security in cash.) I'm in the 30 percent bracket.

How many people who get taxes withheld hold up their pitiful refund checks every year and ignore what the government has kept? "Wow! Look at my refund check! I'm in fat city!" The boob.

If I could change one single thing about the tax laws, I would do this: eliminate withholding. Every quarter, everyone writes a nice, fat check, just like I do. Real money. Right out of the old checking account. Lots of zeros.

This will never happen. After the first payment, the American people would descend on Washington, hang every politician from the highest trees, burn the city to the ground, plow the ruins and ashes under, and piss on the dirt.

And every last politician in Washington knows this, down to their marrow. Their existence depends on the ignorance of their constituents.
