I'm ignoring the increase in the cost of healthcare.
In my state,since 2000, heathcare costs have doubled while the average income has increased by 16%.
Used to be a person could manage to pay a good deal of their own healthcare if they chose not to buy or participate in a plan. Not any more.
I won't argue the merits or pitfalls of Obamacare but I will admit it's not simply a matter of the poor and working poor expecting a handout.
