I think you are missing the point Bowser...

No Bowser...

The energy companies have simply laid the cards on the table. They let it be known how fast consumption was increasing as well as how best to move forward in light of this increased demand.

Yes, Cheney has no desire to make public these companies and individuals who confided in him and gave him off the cuff policy advice.

You seem to have a real problem with realizing that people who work for corporations, run them and are the CEO's of them - are people too. They are also citizens.

You also seem to be unaware that the goverment must rely on these major companies for providing power and energy to the nation. There is no "Federal" energy suppliers - only the private sector.

This means that the government HAD BETTER listen to what these folks have to say...and LISTEN GOOD. Because these companies are the ones who the government includes in emergency planning and expects them to drop everything when the government needs a favor.

So please spare me the obvious - that the Sierra Club, Greenpeace and the Society to Save the Web-footed Chickens wasn't included in TOP-LEVEL policy meetings.

If you don't create energy or distribute it - you were not invited. Pretty simple.

This left-think which divides society between corporations, government and people - is so Marxist it is unbelievable.

Corporations are made of PEOPLE
Government is made of PEOPLE

Some people ARE more important than others when it comes to certain things.

This may not fit in with the commune mentality that says every person must be treated equally.

But that is simply because the folks who realize this are more intelligent than Marx was, Stalin was, or anybody else who clings to this evil and erroneous concept of equality.

Here's one I will contribute to history for Bartlett's quotations:

"Equality is an ideal sought out only by the inferior."

The poor man wants to be rich.
The stupid man wants to be smart.
The janitor wants to be king.

Should the textbooks be dumbed down so the most ignorant dolt can understand them?

Heck, 80% of the world is illiterate. Equality demands we all stop reading so as not to unfairly discriminate against them!

The poor countries want our money too - so we should all give our money till the world's nations are equal. Every nation should have the economic level of Peru.

Equality is a FOOL'S PARADISE.

There is no such thing. There never was and there never will be.

All things are different. All people are different, and yes all nations are different.

Equality is forced retrogression for some to accelerate the less developed.

Scientifically, equality is insanity justified and sold to people who couldn't think their way out of a box.

This of course is the sad level most democratic politicians IQ level floats around. Their ignorance makes them evil and dangerous for a progressive society.

Smarmy rhetoric of equality sells well to the brain-dead, but for those who are the driving force behind society - it is just another example of intellectual stagnation perpetuated by the basest of human instincts - selfishness.

Equality is a concept that has been out-moded. It inspires laziness in the inferior.
A comforting thought that no matter how little they learn, how little they do, how little they care - somehow everyone will treat them just the same like someone who does learn, do and care.

I could go on and on and ON....

But I think you get the picture.

Best wishes,
