This was a high profile case when it happened. I don't find it unusual that he called a press conference.

Grandstanding? I doubt it but hey, I'm gullible, I never really thought Clinton bombed the aspirin factory because of Monica and my contempt for Clinton is at least equal to your feelings on Ashcroft.
